Park Friday

I love jerry-rigging (sp?) the dj booth to battle style... Since I have clumsy hands that like to knock the tone-arms off the records, I always have to have my 1200's battle style. I wonder why at a club that mainly plays hiphop, they build the decks into the booth horizontal? I pulled those bad boys out, rotated the cd players and had just enough room to make them vertical... If I could only lift the mixer 6 inches, then that'd be golden.

Sitting at the Charlotte airport waiting to board my flight back to DC. Last night was crazy again, Can't wait to get back at the end of August. Here's a daytime picture of Suite from the outside. Its on the 3rd floor of the Epicentre, this new, huge complex in downtown charlotte. By the time it is done, there will be a movie theatre, bowling alley and tons of restaurants and clubs all within 1 block!

Although this is incorrect since I DJ'd thursday night (which was the bomb), here's the flyer for Friday night @ SUITE, Charlotte's newest lounge, be there or be square club. I love charlotte, after being here 2 times in the past 3 months. Shout out to the homie DJ Rowshay for all the hospitality.. keep killin it homie!

Robin Thicke

So, after watching the 2008 Ms. Universe pageant (how did Venezuala win with that answer?), i noticed that during one of the last performances, they played the new Robin Thicke song "Magic". As a fan of Robin Thicke, most would think that his '06-'07 cd the "Evolution of Robin Thicke" was his first CD. Not so, in 2002, the son of Growing Pains actor Alan Thicke, yes, that Alan Thicke, came out with a cd called "A Beautiful World".






With his long locks, and stoner-appeal, Robin had moderate success with tracks like the Beethovan infused "When I Get You Alone", "Brand New Jones", and my personal favorite, the ballad "Stupid Things". This cd, however, to me, was a classic cd that touched on many different genre's of music that one wouldn't expect from the seed of Jason Seaver. A good listen all the way through, the cd only sold about 63,000 copies, a failure in most eyes, but as you can see, he's made it past failure status, and I would say he even got his "black card", ha ha. So, the big trip to NYC was for vacation, but at the same time, I took the plunge on saturday. Read about it here...Engagement Story

NEW YORK, NEW YORK... BIG CITY OF DREAMS

SO IT'S 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND AND IT'S TIME FOR A BREAK. LIKE MOST DJ'S WHO DJ AS A FULL TIME CAREER, TAKING OFF THU-FRI-SAT IS LIKE A HIT IN THE BALLS WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING THAT MONEY. BUT IT'S ME AND THE GF'S 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SO I HAVE TO MAKE THE SACRIFICE. HOWEVER, I DO KNOW IT WILL BE WORTH IT. I HAVENT BEEN TO NEW YORK IN 2-3 YEARS SO GETTING BACK UP THERE TO SITE SEE AND CHECK OUT SOME OF THE NEW CLUBS WILL BE GREAT.

THIS WEEKEND WE PLAN ON HITTING UP MARQUEE, TENJUNE, AND MAYBE CAIN, PINK ELEPHANT AND SOME OTHER SPOTS I WAS ADVISED TO CHECK OUT. HOWEVER SINCE WE'RE NOT IN DC, WE'LL PROBABLY HAVE TO PAY RIDICULOS COVERS LIKE $20 AND UP. THATS THE ONE FALL BACK OF GOING TO A DIFFERENT MARKET TO PARTY, IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYONE THERE (I.E. PROMOTERS, DJ'S, FRIENDS...) YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO SHELL OUT SOME MONEY TO PARTY. I DON'T THINK I'VE PAID FOR ONE DRINK OR PAID COVER IN DC IN AROUND 2 YEARS.. BUT THATS ONE OF THE PERKS MOST DJ'S GET IN THEIR CITIES. ANYWAYS, I'LL TRY TO BLOG FROM THE BERRY, I HAVEN'T TRIED THAT YET.. BUT HERE'S SOME VIDS ON NEW YORK.. CHECK IT OUT.
